I often think of alternate realities or parallel universes that contain all the possibilities and nuances of different decisions. Is that just me? Maybe I’m more influenced by the MCU multi-verse than I’d like to admit, or maybe I’m just a “I wonder” kinda guy. Anyway, in one of those imaginary realities I’ll call my “alternative universe” (because it’s music based) instead of easy listening pop CCM (SCC, MWS, Larnelle Harris) being my gateway to Christian music, I came into it the way many my age did…through the tooth & nail catalogue.
It’s not that I don’t like Tooth & Nail as a label, or that I don’t love many of their stable of artists, it’s just that I came late to it. So this list of my Top 25 albums all-time will likely have quite a different look than those who either started with them and/or have a heavier taste in music. To some who will read this there will be egregious exclusions or albums “way too low” on the list. That’s my only caveat as you proceed, so just keep that in mind. This could shift more in coming years as I develop an ear for the heavier side of metal and hardcore but I doubt it will change dramatically. I yam what I yam at this point.
